All suspensions included in the OHF Minimum Suspension list for Minor hockey shall be assessed in accordance with the schedule published by the OHF.
SRA suspensions shall be assessed as 1 week of suspension for each game of suspension assessed for events occurring in both Minor Hockey and Men's league games.
The duration of any suspension an official receives shall be the length of the OHF suspension (assessed in games played or coached) or the SRA suspension in weeks, whichever is longer. An official shall not be eligible to return to officiating until they are eligible to return to league action.
The accumulation of 7 demerit points during a season will result in a review by the discipline committee and the official will be cautioned about their performance. The accumulation of 10 demerit points will result in suspension of the official until they appear before the discipline committee. In the event that the official is reinstated after a hearing by the discipline committee, the reinstatement shall occur with 7 demerit points already being assessed to them. Further infractions will result in progressively more severe penalties being assessed against the offender, including suspension from the SRA.
All demerit points assessed against an official during the course of a season will be cleared at the end of the season so that the official will start the next season at zero points. An exception will be made when points are accumulated during the last 60 days of the previous season. Points accumulated during the last 60 days of the season will be carried forward to the next season.
Any official who is assessed a suspension by the discipline committee for a significant event such as a match penalty in a game shall have be considered to be under probation after serving the suspension for the balance of the season and the entire next season. Future appearances before the Discipline committee during this period of probation will be taken very seriously as the official shall be considered a repeat offender.
